Samuel Athanasius Cusack was born circa 1831.2 He was the son of Samuel Cusack and Sarah Stoney.3 He married Georgina Frances Holmes, daughter of Reverend James Ivory Holmes and Eleanor Posthuma Harrison, on 13 March 1856 at Heavitree, Devon, England.1,2 He died on 9 February 1869 at East Mailland, New South Wales, Australia.2
He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (F.R.C.S.I.)2 He was surgeon at St. Steven's Hospital, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.2 He gained the rank of in the 47th Regiment.2 He had five sons and three daughters.1
