Vice-Admiral Warren Hastings D'Oyly was born on 3 August 1867.1 He was the son of Sir Warren Hastings D'Oyly, 10th Bt. and Henrietta Mary Halliday.2 He married Sylvia Agnes Alicia Hart, daughter of General Sir Reginald Clare Hart, V.C., on 1 January 1912.1 He died on 22 March 1950 at age 82.2
He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1891 in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the Gambia Expedition in 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the Aro and Niger Expeditions in 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Commander in 1902.1 In 1905 commander of the Anglo-French Punitive Expeditions to the New Hebrides.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1908.1 He fought in the First World War.1 In 1914 commander of the International Force landing at Port-au-Prince during the Haiti Revolution.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1919.1 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1925.1

Sylvia Agnes Alicia Hart was the daughter of General Sir Reginald Clare Hart, V.C.2 She married Vice-Admiral Warren Hastings D'Oyly, son of Sir Warren Hastings D'Oyly, 10th Bt. and Henrietta Mary Halliday, on 1 January 1912.1 She died on 23 October 1966.1
