Major Edmond Butler was the son of Hon. Piers Butler and Hon. Margaret Netterville.2 He married Catherine Crispe, daughter of Nicholas Crispe, circa 1657.1 He died on 12 July 1691, killed in action.1
He lived at Killoshulan, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1689 in the Colonel Edward Butler's Regiment of Horse.1 He fought in the Battle of Aughrim on 12 July 1691.1

Catherine Crispe is the daughter of Nicholas Crispe.1 She married, firstly, Edward Murphy before 1657.1 She married, secondly, Major Edmond Butler, son of Hon. Piers Butler and Hon. Margaret Netterville, circa 1657.1

Piers Butler was the son of Major Edmond Butler and Catherine Crispe.2 He married Domvile Hartpole, daughter of Sir Robert Hartpole and unknown Domvile, before 1696.1 He died in January 1716/17.1
Through his wife, he possessed estates including Aghmacart, Rathillig and Garrendenny, Queen's County.1 He gained the rank of Captain between 1689 and 1691 in the 3rd Lord Galmoye's Regiment of Horse.1 In 1691 he was pardoned.1 He lived at Newtown, Durrow, County Laois, IrelandG.1 He lived at Urlingford, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.1

Anne Skellern was the daughter of Reverend Hugh Skellern.2 She and Edmond Butler obtained a marriage license on 9 April 1720.1 She died on 19 April 1787.1

Piers Butler was born in 1722.2 He was the son of Edmond Butler and Anne Skellern.2 He married Mary Mandeville, daughter of Theobald Mandeville, on 24 February 1756.2 He died on 9 August 1796.2
He matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1739.2 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1748 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.2 He was styled as 5th Viscount of Galmoye, in co. Kilkenny [I., 1646] circa 1770, despite the attainder of the 3rd Viscount.2 He lived in 1776 at Deerpark, Cashel, County Tipperary, IrelandG.2

Richard Butler was the son of Edmond Butler and Anne Skellern.2 He died between 1734 and 1757, unmarried.1
On 30 May 1734 he was named as 3rd life in the lease of Newtown.1 On 2 December 1757 he was not mentioned in his father's will.1
