     Charles Fairbairn was born on 12 August 1858 at Kelso, Roxburghshire, Scotland^G.^1,2 He was the son of George Fairbairn and Virginia Armytage.¹ He married Elizabeth Osborne, daughter of James Osborne, on 15 July 1891 at St. Stephen's Church, Elsternwick, Victoria, Australia^G.^1,2 He died on 27 October 1925 at age 67, from cardio-vascular disease.²
     He was educated between 1868 and 1875 at Geelong Grammer School, Geelong, Victoria, Australia^G.² He matriculated at Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in October 1877.² He was a pastoralist.² He had one other daughter and two other sons.²

     George Pearce lived at Bishop's Lydeard, Somerset, England^G.¹
