     Sir Michael Henry Lakin, 1st Bt. was born on 7 October 1846.² He was the son of Henry Lakin and Rebecca Mary Greaves.³ He married Alice Emma Dewing, daughter of David Dewing, on 1 July 1869.² He died on 21 March 1931 at age 84.²
     He held the office of High Sheriff of Warwickshire in 1899.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Warwickshire.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Warwickshire.² He was created 1st Baronet Lakin, of The Cliff, co. Warwick [U.K.] on 22 July 1909.²
