Agnes Mary Horton was born circa 1846 at Canterbury, Kent, England.2 She was the daughter of Rear-Admiral William Horton and Agnes Jane Jeddere-Fisher.1,2 She married Arthur Craigie Oliphant, son of Lt.-Col. James Oliphant and Sophia Ann Trewman, on 22 February 1876.1 She died on 11 December 1928.1

Rear-Admiral William Horton was born on 22 August 1820.2 He was the son of Admiral Joshua Sydney Horton and Grace Treacher.1,2 He married, firstly, Agnes Jane Jeddere-Fisher, daughter of Jacob Jeddere-Fisher, on 1 February 1846 at Tonbridge, Kent, England.2 He married, secondly, Anna Maria Hamilton, daughter of John Hamilton of Sundrum and Christine Dundas, on 8 December 1859.3 He died on 22 March 1883 at age 62.2
He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in the Royal Navy.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Suffolk.2
