     Richard Ogilvy Heriot-Maitland was born on 20 January 1913.¹ He was the son of Brig.-Gen. James Dalgleish Heriot-Maitland and Mary Turner Scrymgeour-Wedderburn.² He married Patricia Bevis, daughter of Lt.-Col. Cecil Bevis, on 3 July 1935.¹ He died in 1972.¹
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Black Watch (Territorial Army.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Perthshire in 1940.¹ He was Aide-de-Camp to the General Officer Commander-in-Chief of the Scottish Command in 1944.¹ He was Aide-de-Camp to the Commander-in-Chief Norway in 1945.¹ He was awarded the King Haakon VII of Norway Liberty Medal.¹
He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Perthshire in 1963.¹

     Lt.-Col. Cecil Bevis was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹

     Patricia Bevis was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Cecil Bevis.² She married Richard Ogilvy Heriot-Maitland, son of Brig.-Gen. James Dalgleish Heriot-Maitland and Mary Turner Scrymgeour-Wedderburn, on 3 July 1935.¹ She died on 15 June 2002.¹
     From 3 July 1935, her married name became Heriot-Maitland.¹

     Lewis Dalgleish Heriot-Maitland was born on 15 July 1943.¹ He is the son of Richard Ogilvy Heriot-Maitland and Patricia Bevis.² He married Prudence Jane Norris, daughter of J. R. B. Norris, on 14 November 1976.¹

     James Richard Heriot-Maitland was born on 21 September 1978.¹ He is the son of Lewis Dalgleish Heriot-Maitland and Prudence Jane Norris.² He married Katherine M. McPherson, daughter of D. R. McPherson.³

     Lucia Jane Heriot-Maitland was born in 1981.¹ She is the daughter of Lewis Dalgleish Heriot-Maitland and Prudence Jane Norris.² She married William Sonsino, son of Victor Sonsino.³

     Eliza Heriot-Maitland is the daughter of Lewis Dalgleish Heriot-Maitland and Prudence Jane Norris.²
