     Captain Charles Carter Barrett was born on 12 June 1827 at Ballinasloe, County Galway, IrelandG.2 He was the son of William Carter Barrett and Charlotte Davies.2 He married Louisa Samina Johnstone, daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Douglas Johnstone and Caroline O'Beirne, on 18 February 1862 at Castletown Church, Killeban, County Laois, IrelandG.1 He died on 18 January 1874 at age 46 at Wimborne Minster, Dorset, EnglandG.2 He was buried on 23 January 1874 at Wimborne Minster, Dorset, EnglandG.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 33rd Regiment.1
