Clara Barbara Beresford was the daughter of Rt. Hon. John Beresford.2 She married Reverend James Spencer Knox, son of Rt. Rev. Hon. William Knox and Anne Spencer, on 10 September 1813.1 She died on 4 April 1862.1

Sir Thomas George Knox was born in January 1824.1 He was the son of Reverend James Spencer Knox and Clara Barbara Beresford.2 He married Prang Yen, daughter of the Phwia and Mâa Yen, in 1854.1 He died on 29 July 1887 at age 63.1
He gained the rank of officer in the 65th Regiment and 98th Regiments, serving in India and China.1 He was Agent and Consul-General to Siam.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)1
