Vice-Admiral Hon. George Fowler Hastings was born on 28 November 1814.1 He was the son of Hans Francis Hastings, 12th Earl of Huntingdon and Frances Cobbe.2,1 He married Mathilde Alice Hitchcock, daughter of W. H. Hitchcock, on 14 September 1864.1 He died on 21 March 1876 at age 61.1
He was commander of the Pacific and the Nore.1 He was awarded the Knight, Order of the Medjidie.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1
