     John Rice Crawford was born on 29 September 1833 at Rutland, Worcester County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was the son of John Crawford and Sally Moore.¹ He married Sarah Andrews after 1865.¹ He died on 21 September 1892 at age 58 at Haverstraw, Rockland County, New York, U.S.A.^G.¹

     William Howard Taft was born on 15 September 1857 at Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.^G. He was the son of Alphonso Taft and Louisa Maria Torrey. He married Helen Louise Herron, daughter of John Williamson Herron and Harriet Anne Collins, on 19 June 1886 at Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.^G. He died on 8 March 1930 at age 72 at Washington, D.C., U.S.A.^G. He was buried at Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, U.S.A.^G.
     He was US President No. 27. Won the Republican Nomination upon Roosevelts recommendation. Won the 1908
election over William J. Bryan by a popular vote of 7,675,320 to 6,412,294
and an electoral vote of 321 to 162. James S. Sherman was his vice-president.
On June 30, 1921 he became Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Because of
his weight of 332 pounds he was nich-named 'Big Bill'.

     Helen Louise Herron was born on 2 June 1861 at Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.^G. She was the daughter of John Williamson Herron and Harriet Anne Collins.^2,1 She married William Howard Taft, son of Alphonso Taft and Louisa Maria Torrey, on 19 June 1886 at Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.^G. She died on 22 May 1943 at age 81 at Washington, D.C., U.S.A.^G. She was buried at Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, U.S.A.^G.
     Helen Louise Herron also went by the nick-name of Nellie. From 19 June 1886, her married name became Taft. She conceived the idea of the thousands of flowering Japanese cherry trees in Potomac Park.

     Robert Alphonso Taft was born on 8 September 1889 at Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.^G. He was the son of William Howard Taft and Helen Louise Herron. He married Martha Wheaton Wheaton-Bowers on 17 October 1914 at Washington, D.C., U.S.A.^G. He died on 31 July 1953 at age 63 at New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G.

     Helen Herron Taft was born on 1 August 1891 at Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.^G. She was the daughter of William Howard Taft and Helen Louise Herron. She married Frederick Johnson Manning on 15 July 1920.
     Her married name became Manning.

     Charles Phelps Taft was born on 20 September 1897 at Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.^G. He was the son of William Howard Taft and Helen Louise Herron. He married Eleanor Kellogg Chase on 6 October 1917 at Waterbury, Connecticut, U.S.A.^G.
     He was also known as II.

     Eleanor Kellogg Chase was born on 9 October 1891 at Waterbury, Connecticut, U.S.A.^G. She married Charles Phelps Taft, son of William Howard Taft and Helen Louise Herron, on 6 October 1917 at Waterbury, Connecticut, U.S.A.^G. She died on 28 August 1961 at age 69 at Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.^G.
     Her married name became Taft.

     Frederick Johnson Manning was born in 1894 at East Baintree, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G. He married Helen Herron Taft, daughter of William Howard Taft and Helen Louise Herron, on 15 July 1920. He died on 15 December 1966 at Nevis, British West Indies.

     Martha Wheaton Wheaton-Bowers was born on 17 December 1891 at Winona, Minnesota, U.S.A.^G. She married Robert Alphonso Taft, son of William Howard Taft and Helen Louise Herron, on 17 October 1914 at Washington, D.C., U.S.A.^G. She died on 2 October 1958 at age 66 at Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.^G.
     Her married name became Taft.

     Alphonso Taft was born in 1810. He died in 1891.
