     Sir Ralph Bruce Verney, 5th Bt. was born on 18 January 1915.² He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Harry Calvert Williams Verney, 4th Bt. and Lady Rachel Catherine Bruce.² He married Mary Vestey, daughter of Percy Charles Vestey and Dorothy Emmeline Johnston, on 7 July 1948.² He died on 17 August 2001 at age 86.²

     Rt. Rev. Stephen Edmund Verney was born on 17 April 1919.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col.      Priscilla Avice Sophie Schwerdt was the daughter of George Francis Ignatius Schwerdt.² She married Rt. Rev. Stephen Edmund Verney, son of Lt.-Col. Sir Harry Calvert Williams Verney, 4th Bt. and Lady Rachel Catherine Bruce, on 13 December 1947.¹ She died on 26 February 1974.¹
     From 13 December 1947, her married name became Verney.
