Sir Richard Wallace, 1st and last Bt. was born illegitimately on 26 July 1818 at Paris, FranceG.1,2 He was the son of Richard Seymour-Conway, 4th Marquess of Hertford and Elizabeth Agnes Dunlop-Wallace.1 He married Julie Amelie Charlotte Castelnau, daughter of Bernard Castelnau, in 1871.1 He died on 20 July 1890 at age 71, without issue.1
He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 He was created 1st Baronet Wallace [U.K.] in 1866.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) between 1873 and 1885.2 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
