Sir Henry Byng Harington was born on 10 April 1808 at Madras, India.2 He was the son of Henry Hawes Harington and Martha Nicholls.2 He married Sarah Ann Russell Thomas, daughter of Robert Moseley Thomas and Ann Trepaud Macdougall Campbell, on 12 September 1829 at Calcutta, India.2 He died on 7 October 1871 at age 63 at 70 Oxford Terrace, Hyde Park, London, England.2 He was buried on 13 October 1871 at Kensal Green Cemetery, London, England.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 10 November 1871.2
He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.)1 He was with the Bengal Civil Service in 1828.2 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [North-West Province] between 1863 and 1865.2 He held the office of Member of the Council of the Governor-General of India.2 His last will was dated 7 December 1868.2
