Lt.-Col. Sir William Joshua Rowley, 6th Bt. was born on 15 April 1891.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir George Charles Erskine Rowley, 3rd Bt. and Amy Isabel Batt.2 He married, firstly, Beatrice Gwendoline Kirby, daughter of Reverend Augustus George Kirby and Edith Smith-Dorrien, on 17 December 1917.1 He and Beatrice Gwendoline Kirby were divorced in 1940.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Sheila Camp, daughter of Harold Camp, on 27 November 1940.1 He died on 11 November 1971 at age 80.1
He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Lancashire Fusiliers.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Rowley, of Hill House, co.
