     Sir John Austin Hungerford Leigh Hoskyns was born on 23 August 1927 at Farnborough, Hampshire, England.² He was the son of Lt.-Col. Chandos Benedict Arden Hoskyns and Joyce Austin Taylor.³ He married Miranda Mott in 1956.² He died on 20 October 2014 at age 87.²
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.² He gained the rank of Captain in the Rifle Brigade.² He was chairman and managing director of Hoskyns Group.² He was head of the Prime Minister's Policy Unit between 1979 and 1982.² He was appointed Knight in 1982.² He was director general of the Institute of Directors between 1984 and 1989.² He was chairman of Burton Group between 1990 and 1998.²

     Sheelagh Marion Barry was the daughter of Hon. Sir Patrick Redmond Joseph Barry.² She married David Chandos Benedict Hoskyns, son of Lt.-Col. Chandos Benedict Arden Hoskyns and Joyce Austin Taylor, on 21 June 1958.¹ She died in 2002.¹
     From 21 June 1958, her married name became Hoskyns. She adopted Simon Chandos Hoskyns.² She adopted Jessica Marion Hoskyns.²
