Admiral Sir Henry Bertram Pelly was born on 9 September 1867.2 He was the son of Captain Richard Wilson Pelly and Katherine Jane Fry.2 He married Lillian Katherine Hawkshaw Vincent, daughter of Rev. Sir William Vincent, 12th Bt. and Hester Clara Hawkshaw, on 14 December 1904.2 He died on 27 December 1942 at age 75.2
He was a Younger Brother of Trinity House in 1894.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of Russia with swords.2 He was awarded the Order of El Nahda of the Hedijaz 1st Class.2 He was awarded the Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus of Italy 4th Class.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.2
