Arthur Geoffrey Dyke Acland was born on 17 May 1908.1 He was the son of Sir Francis Dyke Acland, 10th/14th Bt. and Eleanor Margaret Cropper.1 He married Winifred Julian Dorothy Fothergill, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sydney Roden Fothergill and Winifred Gladstone, on 1 April 1932.1 He died on 14 September 1964 at age 56.1
He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1930 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Border Regiment.1 He adopted Martin Hilary Dyke Acland.
