     Richard Maxwell Haldane was born on 27 October 1909.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Maldwyn Makgill Haldane and Mabel Constance Seymour.² He married Ruth Kathleen Hunt, daughter of Athol Clifford Hunt, on 28 September 1939.¹ He died on 2 January 1971 at age 61.¹
     He was educated at Loretto School, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was General Secretary of the South African Society of Bank Officials.¹ He was Vice-President of the South African Trades and Labour Council between 1949 and 1950.¹

     Athol Clifford Hunt lived at Barkley East, Cape Province, South Africa^G.¹ He was a practising solicitor.¹

     Ruth Kathleen Hunt was the daughter of Athol Clifford Hunt.² She married Richard Maxwell Haldane, son of Lt.-Col. Maldwyn Makgill Haldane and Mabel Constance Seymour, on 28 September 1939.¹ She died in October 1970.¹

     Kenneth Patrick Maldwyn Haldane was born on 8 November 1915.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Maldwyn Makgill Haldane and Mabel Constance Seymour.² He died on 24 October 1998 at age 82.¹

     Elizabeth Alison Deirdre Haldane is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Maldwyn Makgill Haldane and Mabel Constance Seymour.² She married, firstly, William Merrilees in 1932.¹ She and William Merrilees were divorced in 1936.¹ She married, secondly, Ernest Hessey, son of Ernest David Hessey, on 20 April 1940.¹
     From 1932, her married name became Merrilees.¹ From 20 April 1940, her married name became Hessey.¹

     William Merrilees married Elizabeth Alison Deirdre Haldane, daughter of Lt.-Col. Maldwyn Makgill Haldane and Mabel Constance Seymour, in 1932.¹ He and Elizabeth Alison Deirdre Haldane were divorced in 1936.¹

     Anne Sylvia Fenella Haldane was born on 14 July 1919.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Maldwyn Makgill Haldane and Mabel Constance Seymour.² She married John Baliol Bentley, son of Dr. Richard John Bentley, on 25 August 1945.¹ She died on 20 August 2011 at age 92.³
     She was educated at Aberdeen High School, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.¹ She was educated at St. George's Froebel Training College, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ She was educated at Maria Grey College, London, England^G.¹ From 25 August 1945, her married name became Bentley.
