     He graduated from University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He gained the rank of Surgeon-General in the Bengal Army.¹ He gained the title of 2nd Baronet Christison on 27 January 1882.

     Jemima Anne Brown was the daughter of James Cowley Brown.¹ She married Sir Alexander Christison, 2nd Bt. on 22 June 1854.¹ She died on 21 September 1876.¹
     From 22 June 1854, her married name became Christison.¹
