     General Sir Archibald Alison, 2nd Bt. was born on 21 January 1826.1 He was the son of Sir Archibald Alison, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Glencairn Tytler.1 He married Jane Black, daughter of James Black, on 18 November 1858.1 He died on 5 February 1907 at age 81.1
     He fought in the Crimean War.1 He was Military Secretary to Commander-in-Chief, India between 1857 and 1858.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Alison, of Possil House, co. Devon [U.K., 1852] on 23 May 1867.1 He was Brigadier-General of the European Contingent between 1873 and 1874.1 He fought in the Ashanti War between 1873 and 1874.1 He was Head of the Intelligence Department, Horse Guards between 1878 and 1882.1 He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1882.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1882.1 He was Adjutant-General in 1885.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Seaforth Highlanders.1 He gained the rank of General in 1889.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

     Reverend William Henry Beauchamp was born on 16 March 1818.2 He was the son of Admiral Sir William Beauchamp-Proctor, 3rd Bt. and Anne Gregory.1 He married Augusta Arnold, daughter of Dr. Thomas Graham Arnold, on 31 December 1845.2 He died on 19 March 1853 at age 35.2
     He was given the name of William Henry Beauchamp-Proctor at birth.2 His name was legally changed to William Henry Beauchamp.2 He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was the Rector at Chedgrave, Norfolk, England.2 He was the Rector at Langley, Norfolk, England.2
