     Phylis Rowena Cunliffe was born on 12 December 1886.¹ She was the daughter of Foster Kinlock Cunliffe and Henrietta Worthington.² She married Thomas Steel Downie on 16 July 1919.¹
     From 16 July 1919, her married name became Downie.
