     Sir John Brownlow, 1st and last Bt. was born circa 1594.² He was the son of Richard Brownlow and Katharine Page.¹ He married Alice Pulteney, daughter of Sir John Pulteney.¹ He died on 23 November 1679, without issue.²
     He matriculated at St. Mary Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 26 June 1607.² He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1608.² He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 28 April 1610 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)² He held the office of Sheriff of Lincolnshire from 1639 to 1640.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Brownlow, of Belton, near Grantham, co. Lincoln [England] on 26 July 1641.² In 1643 at Grantham, Lincolnshire, England^G, he was indicted for high treason, suggesting he was a royalist in the Civil War.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1665.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     Hon. Elizabeth Greville was the daughter of Fulke Greville, 5th Baron Brooke of Beauchamps Court and Sarah Dashwood.^3,1 She married Francis North, 2nd Baron Guilford, son of Francis North, 1st Baron Guilford and Lady Frances Pope, on 25 February 1694/95.¹ She died on 4 November 1699.¹
     After her marriage, Hon. Elizabeth Greville was styled as Baroness of Guilford on 25 February 1694/95. From 25 February 1694/95, her married name became North.

     Francis North, 1st Baron Guilford was born on 22 October 1637 at Kirtling, Cambridgeshire, England.^3,4 He was the son of Dudley North, 4th Baron North and Anne Montagu.⁵ He married Lady Frances Pope, daughter of Thomas Pope, 3rd Earl of Downe and Beata Poole, on 5 March 1671/72.³ He died on 5 September 1685 at age 47.³
     He was educated at St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.³ He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1661 entitled to practise as a barrister.³ He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.) in 1668.³ He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1671 and 1673.³ He held the office of Attorney-General between 1673 and 1682.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for King's Lynn from 1672/73 to 1675.³ He held the office of Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas between 1675 and 1682.³ He held the office of Speaker of the House of Lords in 1678.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1679.³ He held the office of Lord Keeper of the Great Seal between 1682 and 1685.³ He was created 1st Baron Guilford, co. Surrey [England] on 27 September 1683.³

     Lady Frances Pope was baptised on 7 May 1646 at Wroxton, Oxfordshire, England. She was the daughter of Thomas Pope, 3rd Earl of Downe and Beata Poole.¹ She married Francis North, 1st Baron Guilford, son of Dudley North, 4th Baron North and Anne Montagu, on 5 March 1671/72.¹ She died on 15 November 1678 at age 32 at Wroxton, Oxfordshire, England.² She was also reported to have died on 4 November 1699.¹ She was buried on 17 November 1678 at Wroxton, Oxfordshire, England.²
     From 5 March 1671/72, her married name became North.

     Thomas Pope, 3rd Earl of Downe was born in 1598.¹ He was the son of William Pope, 1st Earl of Downe and Anne Hopton.¹ He married Beata Poole, daughter of Sir Henry Poole, on 20 April 1636 at Wroxton, Oxfordshire, England. He died on 11 January 1667/68 at Wroxton, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He was buried on 20 January 1668 at Wroxton, Oxfordshire, England.
     He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Downe [I., 1628] on 28 December 1660. He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Pope, of Wilcote, co. Oxford [E., 1611] on 28 December 1660.

     Dudley North, 4th Baron North was born circa 1 November 1602.³ He was the son of Dudley North, 3rd Baron North and Frances Brocket.⁴ He married Anne Montagu, daughter of Sir Charles Montagu, on 24 April 1632.³ He died on 24 June 1677.³
     He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1616.³ He was educated at Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.³ He was educated at Gray's Inn, London, England^G.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Horsham from 1628 to 1629.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cambridgeshire between 1640 and 1648.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cambridgeshire between April 1640 and May 1640.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cambridge in 1660.³ He succeeded as the 4th Baron North [E., 1554] on 16 January 1665/66.³

     Anne Montagu was the daughter of Sir Charles Montagu.¹ She married Dudley North, 4th Baron North, son of Dudley North, 3rd Baron North and Frances Brocket, on 24 April 1632.¹ She died circa 12 February 1680/81.² She was buried on 15 February 1680/81.
     Her married name became North.

     Sir Charles Montagu was appointed Knight.

     James Compton, 5th Earl of Northampton was born on 2 May 1687.¹ He was the son of George Compton, 4th Earl of Northampton and Jane Fox.¹ He married Elizabeth Shirley, Baroness Ferrers (of Chartley), daughter of Hon. Robert Shirley and Anne Ferrers, on 7 March 1715/16.² He died on 3 October 1754 at age 67, without surviving male issue.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Warwickshire from 1710 to 1711.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Lord Compton [E., 1572] on 28 December 1711, in his father's lifetime.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Northampton [E., 1618] on 15 April 1727.³

     Spencer Compton, 8th Earl of Northampton was born on 5 August 1738.¹ He was the son of Hon. Charles Compton and Mary Lucy.³ He married, firstly, Jane Lawton, daughter of Henry Lawton, in 1758.¹ He married, secondly, Anne Hougham, daughter of Culpeper Hougham, in 1769.¹ He died on 7 April 1796 at age 57.¹
     He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Northampton [E., 1618] on 18 October 1763.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Northampton between 1781 and 1783.¹
