     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Battalion, Norfolk Regiment.¹ He also had two daughters, who died in infancy.¹

     Elizabeth Graves was born in 1858.¹ She was the daughter of Ryves William Graves and Isabella O'Grady.¹ She died in 1862 at Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England.¹
