Sir Adam de Gurdon is the son of Sir Adam de Gurdon and Ameria (?)2,1 He married Constantia de Venuz, by special papal licence.1
He was outlawed for treason and rebellion as one of Simon de Montfort's followers in the Barons' War.1 He held the office of Bailiff of Alton, temp HENRY III.1 He fought in the Battle of Evesham in 1265, after which he fled with a band of followers to the New Forest, where he was defeated in single combat by Prince Edward (later Edward I), who pardoned him, made him Keeper of the Forest of Wolmer and employed him in high military commands.1
