     Sir William McMahon, 1st Bt. was born on 12 July 1776.2 He was the son of John McMahon and Mary Stacpoole.1 He married, firstly, Frances Burston, daughter of Beresford Burston, on 16 May 1807.2 He married, secondly, Charlotte Shaw, daughter of Robert Shaw and Mary Higgins, on 9 September 1814.3 He died in 1837.3
     He was a practising barrister.2 He held the office of Master of the Rolls [Ireland].2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)2 He was created 1st Baronet McMahon, of Dublin [U.K.] on 6 May 1815.2

     Dorothea Griffin was the daughter of Richard Griffin.1 She married John Stacpoole, son of John Stacpoole and Catherine Connolly, on 30 November 1800.1 She died on 3 April 1802.1
