     Diana Kemeys owned Ferns Castle, Ferns, County Wexford, IrelandG, which she leased to her father Nicholas Kemeys.1 From 1721, her married name became Bland.1

     Cornet John Bland was born in 1701, (this date is in question: partly because it was 20 years before the marriage of his parents, partly because it would give him an age at his death of 107 years, and partly because he would have been unlikely to have only attained the rank of Cornet by the time he fought in the battles he was in.)1 He was the son of Nathaniel Bland and Diana Kemeys.1 He died in 1808.1
     He gained the rank of Cornet in the Bland's Horse (under General Humphry Bland.)1 He fought in the Battle of Dettingen.1 He fought in the Battle of Fontenoy.1 He fought in the Battle of Clifton Moor.1 He left the Army for the stage, making his first appearance as Polydore in The Orphan at Covent Garden, London, EnglandG.1 He was an Actor-Manager and Treasurer at Theatre Royal, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He wrote the book Frederick the Forsaken (a novel.)1 He was disinherited by his father, and cut out of the pedigree.1
