     Thomas Hamilton, 9th Earl of Haddington was born on 21 June 1780.¹ He was the son of Charles Hamilton, 8th Earl of Haddington and Lady Sophia Hope.³ He married Lady Maria Parker, daughter of George Parker, 4th Earl of Macclesfield and Mary Frances Drake, on 13 October 1802.¹ He died on 1 December 1858 at age 78, without issue.¹

     Lady Maria Parker was the daughter of George Parker, 4th Earl of Macclesfield and Mary Frances Drake.^1,2 She married Thomas Hamilton, 9th Earl of Haddington, son of Charles Hamilton, 8th Earl of Haddington and Lady Sophia Hope, on 13 October 1802.¹ She died on 11 February 1861, without issue.³
     From 13 October 1802, her married name became Hamilton.¹ After her marriage, Lady Maria Parker was styled as Baroness Melrose of Tyninghame on 24 July 1827. After her marriage, Lady Maria Parker was styled as Countess of Haddington on 17 March 1858.

     George Parker, 4th Earl of Macclesfield was born on 24 February 1755.¹ He was the son of Thomas Parker, 3rd Earl of Macclesfield and Mary Heathcote.¹ He was baptised on 21 March 1755.¹ He married Mary Frances Drake, daughter of Reverend Thomas Drake, on 25 May 1780.¹ He died on 20 March 1842 at age 87 at 9 Conduit Street, St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.²

     Her married name became Parker. After her marriage, Mary Frances Drake was styled as Countess of Macclesfield on 9 February 1795.

     Reverend Thomas Drake graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹ He was the Rector at Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Thomas Parker, 3rd Earl of Macclesfield was born on 2 October 1723.¹ He was the son of George Parker, 2nd Earl of Macclesfield and Mary Lane.¹ He married Mary Heathcote, daughter of Sir William Heathcote, 1st Bt. and Lady Elizabeth Parker, on 12 December 1749.¹ He died on 9 February 1795 at age 71.¹

     Her married name became Parker. After her marriage, Mary Heathcote was styled as Countess of Macclesfield on 17 March 1764.

     Sir William Heathcote, 1st Bt. was born on 15 March 1693.¹ He was the son of Samuel Heathcote and Mary Dawsonne.² He married Lady Elizabeth Parker, daughter of Thomas Parker, 1st Earl of Macclesfield and Janet Carrier, on 7 April 1720.¹ He died on 10 May 1751 at age 58.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Buckingham between 1722 and 1727.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Southampton between 1729 and 1741.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Heathcote, of Hursley, Hampshire [Great Britain] on 16 August 1733.¹

     Lady Elizabeth Parker was the daughter of Thomas Parker, 1st Earl of Macclesfield and Janet Carrier.^1,2 She married Sir William Heathcote, 1st Bt., son of Samuel Heathcote and Mary Dawsonne, on 7 April 1720.² She died on 21 February 1746/47.²
     From 7 April 1720, her married name became Heathcote.

     George Parker, 2nd Earl of Macclesfield was born circa 1697.¹ He was the son of Thomas Parker, 1st Earl of Macclesfield and Janet Carrier.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Lane, daughter of Ralph Lane, on 18 September 1722.¹ He married, secondly, Dorothy Nesbitt on 20 December 1757.¹ He died on 17 March 1764.¹
