Elgiva Margaret Dundas was born on 9 November 1897.2 She was the daughter of Hon. Cospatrick Thomas Dundas and Maud FitzWilliam.1,2 She married Hubert William Ponsonby, 5th Baron de Mauley of Canford, son of Maurice John George Ponsonby, 4th Baron de Mauley of Canford and Hon. Madeline Emily Augusta Hanbury-Tracy, on 11 October 1920.1 She died in 1987.1

Hon. Cospatrick Thomas Dundas was born on 5 November 1862.2 He was the son of Hon. John Charles Dundas and Margaret Matilda Talbot.2 He married Maud FitzWilliam, daughter of Hon. George Wentworth FitzWilliam and Alice Louisa Anson, on 18 July 1892.2 He died on 23 November 1906 at age 44.2
In 1873 he was granted the rank of an earl's younger son.2 He gained the rank of Lieuetenant in the Yorkshire Hussars.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Orkney and Shetland.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire.2

John George Brabazon Ponsonby, 5th Earl of Bessborough was born on 14 October 1809.1 He was the son of John William Ponsonby, 4th Earl of Bessborough and Lady Maria Fane.1 He married, firstly, Lady Frances Charlotte Lambton, daughter of John George Lambton, 1st Earl of Durham and Lady Harriet Cholmondeley, on 8 September 1835 at Cleveland Row, St. James's, London, EnglandG.1 He married, secondly, Lady Caroline Amelia Gordon-Lennox, daughter of Charles Gordon-Lennox, 5th Duke of Richmond and Lady Caroline Paget, on 4 October 1849.2 He died on 28 January 1880 at age 70 at Bessborough House, near Pilltown, County Kilkenny, IrelandG, without issue.2 He was buried on 3 February 1880 at Fiddown, IrelandG.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 12 May 1880.2
