Lt.-Col. Hugh David MacEwen Barton was born on 17 January 1911.1 He was the son of Sir Sidney Barton and Mary Ethel Winifred MacEwen.1 He married Rose-Marie Meyer, daughter of Wilhelm Meyer, on 2 January 1937.1 He died on 16 April 1989 at age 78 at Basingstoke, Hampshire, England.2
