Sir Archibald Hope of Craighall, 12th Bt. was born on 28 February 1808.1 He was the son of Sir John Hope of Craighall, 11th Bt. and Anne Wedderburn.2 He married Aldena A. Kingscote, daughter of Henry Robert Kingscote and Harriett Elizabeth Tower, on 17 July 1862.3 He died on 24 January 1883 at age 74, without issue.1
He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Hope, of Craighall [N.S., 1628] on 5 June 1853.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Midlothian Militia.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Edinburgh.1
