     Mary Rachel Baker was born on 31 December 1911.1 She was the daughter of Allen Baker and Frances Violet Cooper-Chadwick.1 She married Colonel Kenneth Edgar Holmes, son of Colonel John Dalrymple Edgar Holmes, on 4 July 1933, they were the parents of two daughters.1 She died on 21 January 1971 at age 59.1
     From 4 July 1933, her married name became Holmes.1
