Captain Hon. Byron Charles Ferdinand Plantagenet Cary was born on 5 October 1808 at Long Melford, Suffolk, England.1,2 He was the son of Captain Charles John Cary, 9th Viscount of Falkland and Christiana Anton.1 He married Selina Mary Fox, daughter of Francis Fox, on 19 February 1844.1 He died on 21 February 1874 at age 65.1

Lt.-Col. Byron Plantagenet Cary, 12th Viscount of Falkland was born on 3 April 1845 at Paris, France.1,2 He was the son of Captain Hon. Byron Charles Ferdinand Plantagenet Cary and Selina Mary Fox.1 He married Mary Reade, daughter of Robert Reade, on 25 September 1879.1 He died on 10 January 1922 at age 76.1
He succeeded as the 12th Lord Carye [S., 1620] on 21 February 1874.1 He succeeded as the 12th Viscount of Falkland, of Falkland, co. Elizabeth Anne Crewe was the daughter of John Crewe.1 She married George Evelyn Boscawen, 3rd Viscount Falmouth, son of Admiral Rt. Hon. Edward Boscawen and Frances Glanville, on 26 June 1784.2 She died on 10 August 1793.2

Hugh le Despenser, 1st Lord le Despenser was born circa 1308.1 He was the son of Hugh le Despenser, 1st Lord le Despenser and Lady Eleanor de Clare.1 He married Lady Elizabeth Montagu, daughter of William Montagu, 1st Earl of Salisbury and Catherine Grandison, on 27 April 1341.2,3 He died on 8 February 1348/49, without issue.2
He was created 1st Lord le Despenser [England by writ] on 15 November 1338.1 He fought in the Battle of Sluys in 1340.1 He fought in the Battle of Crécy in 1346.1 In 1350 On his death, his barony became extinct.1
