     Jane Cary was born circa 1595.1 She was the daughter of Sir Edward Cary and Katherine Knyvett.1 She married Edward Barrett, 1st and last Lord Barrett of Newburgh, son of Charles Barrett and Christian Mildmay, between 22 April 1608 and 3 May 1608.1 She died circa December 1632.1 She was buried on 2 January 1632/33 at Aveley, Essex, EnglandG, without male issue.1
     From between 22 April 1608 and 3 May 1608, her married name became Barrett.1 After her marriage, Jane Cary was styled as Baroness Barrett of Newburgh on 2 October 1628.

     Francis Leke, 1st Earl of Scarsdale was born in 1561.2 He was the son of Francis Leke and Frances Swift.2 He married Anne Cary, daughter of Sir Edward Cary and Katherine Knyvett, on 16 September 1607.1 He died on 9 April 1665.1
     He was appointed Knight.3 He was created 1st Baronet Leke, of Sutton, co. Derby [England] on 22 May 1611.3 He was created 1st Baron Deincourt, of Sutton, co. Derby [England] on 26 October 1624.3 He was created 1st Earl of Scarsdale [England] on 11 November 1645.3

     William Cary was the son of Thomas Cary and Margaret Spencer.1 He married Lady Mary Boleyn, daughter of Thomas Boleyn, 1st and last Earl of Wiltshire and Lady Elizabeth Howard, on 4 February 1520/21.3 He died on 22 June 1529.3
     He held the office of Gentleman of the Privy Chamber.3 He held the office of Esquire of the Body to King Henry VIII.3 He was also known as William Carey.4
