     Major Noel Maurice Anderson was born on 30 November 1896.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Charles Alexander Anderson and Ellen Katherine Russell.¹ He married Shelia Lyle Simpson, daughter of Lt.-Col. David Simpson, on 22 August 1922.¹ He died on 28 March 1940 at age 43.¹
