Reverend Richard Hopkins Ryland was born in 1788.1 He was the son of Reverend Richard Ryland and Mary Burton.1 He married Isabella Julia Fleury, daughter of Reverend George Louis Fleury and Isabella Weekes, on 7 August 1818 at St. Patrick's Church, Waterford, County Waterford, IrelandG.1 He died on 30 December 1866.1
He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He wrote the book The History of Waterford, published 1824.1 He was Chancellor of Waterford Cathedral on 31 October 1829.1 He held the office of Prebendary of Mora on 29 December 1842.1 He wrote the book Observations on a Pamphlet on National Education, published 1844.1
