     Edith May Randolph married Hon. William Collins Whitney, son of General James S. Whitney and Laurinda Collins.¹ She died in 1899, in a riding accident.¹

     Joan Whitney was born on 5 February 1903 at New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G.¹ She was the daughter of William Payne Whitney and Helen Hay.¹ She married Charles Shipman Payson.¹ She died on 4 October 1975 at age 72.¹ She was buried at Pine Grove Cemetery, Falmouth, Maine, U.S.A.^G.¹
     Her married name became Payson.¹ She was co-founder and owner of the New York Mets baseball team in 1961.¹
