     Sir James Dalrymple-Hay of Park Place, 2nd Bt. was born on 8 July 1788 at Dunragit, Wigtownshire, Scotland^G.^2,3,1 He was the son of Sir John Dalrymple-Hay of Park Place, 1st Bt. and Susan Hay.¹ He married, firstly, Elizabeth Heron-Maxwell, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir John Shaw Heron-Maxwell of Springkell, 4th Bt. and Mary Heron, on 27 September 1819.^4,5 He married, secondly, Anne Hathorn, daughter of George Hathorn and Sarah Donaldson, on 31 March 1823 at St. Pancras New Church, London, England.⁴ He died on 19 March 1861 at age 72 at Dunragit, Wigtownshire, Scotland^G.⁴
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Dalrymple-Hay, of Park Place, co. Wigtown [G.B., 1798] on 12 May 1812.¹
