     George Iliff Simey was born on 25 February 1866.1 He was the son of Ralph Simey and Margaret Iliff.1 He married Alice Robson Spensley, daughter of Reverend William Spensley, on 21 May 1896.1 He died on 17 April 1927 at age 61.1
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was a practising solicitor in 1892.1 He was Clerk of the Peace.1 He held the office of Member of the Somerset County Council between 1905 and 1927.1
