Alexander Peckover, 1st and last Baron Peckover was born on 16 August 1830 at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Algernon Peckover and Priscilla Alexander.1 He married Eliza Sharples, daughter of Joseph Sharples, on 8 April 1858.1 He died on 21 October 1919 at age 89, without male issue.1
He was educated at Grove House School, Tottenham, London, EnglandG.1 He was with Gurney, Peckover and Company between 1847 and 1894.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Linnean Society (F.L.S.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire between 1894 and 1907.1 He was created 1st Baron Peckover, of Wisbech, co.
