     Balthazar Stephen Sargant Foster, 2nd Baron Ilkeston was born on 31 August 1867.¹ He was the son of Balthazar Walter Foster, 1st Baron Ilkeston and Emily Martha Sargant.¹ He married Mildred Charlotte Cobb, daughter of Henry Peyton Cobb, on 20 December 1901.¹ He died on 4 January 1952 at age 84.¹
     He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1892 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He was Stipendiary Magistrate of Birmingham in 1910.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Ilkeston, of Ilkeston, co. Derby [U.K., 1910] on 31 January 1913.¹ On his death, his title became extinct.¹

     Mildred Charlotte Cobb is the daughter of Henry Peyton Cobb.¹ She married Balthazar Stephen Sargant Foster, 2nd Baron Ilkeston, son of Balthazar Walter Foster, 1st Baron Ilkeston and Emily Martha Sargant, on 20 December 1901.¹
     From 20 December 1901, her married name became Foster.¹ After her marriage, Mildred Charlotte Cobb was styled as Baroness Ilkeston on 31 January 1913.

     Henry Peyton Cobb held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)¹
