     Admiral Arthur William Edward Prothero was born on 18 April 1850.1 He was the son of Rev. Canon George Prothero and Emma Money-Kyrle.1 He married Helen Lucy Ellicombe, daughter of George Bradford Ellicombe, on 4 September 1894.1 He died on 1 January 1931 at age 80.1
     He gained the rank of Admiral in the Royal Navy.1

     Rowland Edmund Prothero, 1st Baron Ernle was born on 6 September 1851 at Clifton on Teme, Worcestershire, England.1,2 He was the son of Rev. Canon George Prothero and Emma Money-Kyrle.1 He married, firstly, Mary Beatrice Bailward, daughter of John Bailward and Elizabeth Frances Bradney, on 15 August 1891.3 He married, secondly, Barbara Jane Hamley, daughter of Lt.-Col. C. O. Hamley, on 9 April 1902.3 He died on 1 July 1937 at age 85, without surviving male issue.1
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.3 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1878 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1878 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.3 He was editor of the Quarterly Review between 1894 and 1899.3 He was Agent-in-Chief to the Duke of Bedford between 1898 and 1918.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for the University of Oxford between 1914 and 1919.3 He held the office of President of the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries between 1916 and 1919.3 He was created 1st Baron Ernle, of Chelsea, co. London [U.K.] on 4 February 1919.3 He wrote the book The Psalms in Human Life.3 He wrote the book English Farming Past and Present.3 On his death, his title became extinct.3

     Mary Beatrice Bailward was born in 1850 at Somerset, England.2 She was the daughter of John Bailward and Elizabeth Frances Bradney.1,2 She married Rowland Edmund Prothero, 1st Baron Ernle, son of Rev. Canon George Prothero and Emma Money-Kyrle, on 15 August 1891.1 She died on 3 May 1899.1
     From 15 August 1891, her married name became Prothero.1

     Barbara Jane Hamley was the daughter of Lt.-Col. C. O. Hamley.1 She married Rowland Edmund Prothero, 1st Baron Ernle, son of Rev. Canon George Prothero and Emma Money-Kyrle, on 9 April 1902.1 She died on 26 November 1930.1
     From 9 April 1902, her married name became Prothero.1 After her marriage, Barbara Jane Hamley was styled as Baroness Ernle on 4 February 1919.

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned on 17 September 1913, in the service of the 7th Hussars.1 He fought in the First World War.1
