Maj.-Gen. Henry Edward Lyons, 1st and last Baron Ennisdale was born on 29 August 1877.1 He was the son of John Edward Lyons.1 He married Helen Bishop, daughter of Frank Bishop, on 17 January 1905.1 He died on 17 August 1963 at age 85.1
He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902.1 He fought in the First World War between 1915 and 1919.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He gained the rank of Major-General.1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1933.1 He was created 1st Baronet Lyons [U.K.] on 3 March 1937.1 He was created 1st Baron Ennisdale, of Grately, co. Southampton [U.K.] on 6 July 1939.1 On his death, his titles became extinct.1
