     Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Mervyn Archdale, 1st Bt. was born on 26 January 1853.¹ He was the son of Nicholas Montgomery Archdale and Adelaide Mary Porter.¹ He married Alicia Bland Fleming, daughter of Quintin Fleming, on 10 June 1880.¹ He died on 1 November 1943 at age 90.

[Northern Ireland] in 1922.¹ He gained the title of 1st Baronet Archdale, of Riversdale, co. Fermanagh [U.K.] on 25 June 1928.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Enniskillen [Northern Ireland] between 1929 and 1943.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Fermanagh.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Fermanagh.¹

     Alicia Bland Fleming was the daughter of Quintin Fleming.¹ She married Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Mervyn Archdale, 1st Bt., son of Nicholas Montgomery Archdale and Adelaide Mary Porter, on 10 June 1880.¹ She died on 10 May 1924.¹
     Her married name became Archdale.
