     Sir Edward Gilbert Clayton was born on 16 July 1841.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Henry Clayton and Jean Henrietta Blair.2 He married Georgina Elizabeth Sykes Clayton, daughter of Sykes Clayton, on 4 November 1864.1 He died on 5 March 1917 at age 75.1
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Engineers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.1 He was Inspector of Prisons.1 He was Secretary to the Prison Commissioners between 1895 and 1908.1

     Georgina Elizabeth Sykes Clayton was the daughter of Sykes Clayton.1 She married Sir Edward Gilbert Clayton, son of Maj.-Gen. Henry Clayton and Jean Henrietta Blair, on 4 November 1864.1 She died on 8 August 1931.1

     Lt.-Col. Henry Edward Gilbert Clayton was born on 24 August 1867.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Gilbert Clayton and Georgina Elizabeth Sykes Clayton.2 He married Huberta Grenfell, daughter of Captain Hubert H. Grenfell, on 7 January 1900.1 He died on 9 February 1948 at age 80.1
     He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Engineers.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1

     Captain Hubert H. Grenfell was he invented illuminated night sights for naval guns.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1

     Huberta Grenfell is the daughter of Captain Hubert H. Grenfell.2 She married Lt.-Col. Henry Edward Gilbert Clayton, son of Sir Edward Gilbert Clayton and Georgina Elizabeth Sykes Clayton, on 7 January 1900.1
     From 7 January 1900, her married name became Clayton.

     Henry Hubert Clayton was born on 9 February 1906.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Henry Edward Gilbert Clayton and Huberta Grenfell.2 He married Isobel Mary Winters, daughter of William Gass Winters, on 17 June 1944.1 He died on 10 September 1989 at age 83.1
     He graduated from University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Candian Artillery.1 He was Head of Theoretical Physics, British Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd at Chalk River, Ontario, CanadaG.1
