Reverend Edward William Dowell was born on 25 December 1823.2 He was the son of Reverend William Dowell and Charlotte Theresa Yonge.1,2 He married Mary Ann Brereton, daughter of Randle Brereton and Sarah Barwick, on 28 November 1849 at Blakeney, Norfolk, England.2 He died on 14 February 1896 at age 72 at Dunton, Norfolk, England.2
