Savile Brinton Crossley, 1st Baron Somerleyton was born on 14 June 1857.2 He was the son of Sir Francis Crossley, 1st Bt. and Martha Eliza Brinton.2 He married Phyllis de Bathe, daughter of General Sir Gerald Henry Perceval de Bathe, 4th Bt. and Charlotte Clare, on 14 December 1887.2 He died on 25 February 1935 at age 77.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Crossley [U.K., 1863] on 5 January 1872.2 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
