     Patrick Lindsay, 4th Lord Lindsay of the Byres was the son of John Lindsay, 1st Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Agnes Stewart.1 He married Isabella Pitcairn, daughter of Henry Pitcairn, 10th of Pitcairn and Forthar.1 He died after 8 March 1526.1
     He was a practising Advocate.1 He succeeded as the 4th Lord Lindsay of the Byres [S., 1444] after 26 October 1498.1 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.1 In December 1513 he was one of the four peers appointed to advise Queen Margaret.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Fife in 1525.1

     Sir John Lindsay, Master of Lindsay was the son of Patrick Lindsay, 4th Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Isabella Pitcairn.1 He married Elizabeth Lundie, daughter of Sir Robert Lundie of Balgonie and Jean Lindsay, before 8 September 1521.1 He died circa 28 August 1525.1
     He was styled as Master of Lindsay.1
