     Sydney Kingsmill is the daughter of Colonel William Kingsmill and Dorothy St. Leger.^1,2 She married Lt.-Col. Sir Thomas Fortescue, son of Sir Faithful Fortescue and Hon. Anne Moore.
     Her married name became Fortescue.¹

     Colonel William Kingsmill was born in 1596 at London, England^G.³ He was the son of Francis Kingsmill and Anne St. Leger.³ He married Dorothy St. Leger.³ He died in April 1650 at Ballybeg, County Cork, Ireland^G.³
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)⁴ He lived at Ballybeg Abbey, County Cork, Ireland^G.² He lived at Sidmonton, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Colonel Chichester Fortescue was born in 1654. He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Thomas Fortescue and Sydney Kingsmill.¹ He married Frideswid Hall, daughter of Francis Hall and Mary Lyndon, in 1681.² He died in 1734.
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the a Regiment of Foot.¹ He lived at Dromisken, County Louth, Ireland^G.¹
     He also had three other daughters.¹

     Sir Faithful Fortescue was the son of John Fortescue and Susanna Chichester.¹ He married Hon. Anne Moore, daughter of Garret Moore, 1st Viscount Moore of Drogheda.¹ He died in 1666.¹
     He was appointed Knight.¹ He was granted extensive lands in Counties Louth, Down and Antrim.¹ He went to Ireland at the beginning of King James I's reign.¹ He fought in the Englsih Civil War, as a Royalist.¹ He held the office of Gentleman of the Privy Chamber to King Charles II.¹

     Hon. Anne Moore was the daughter of Garret Moore, 1st Viscount Moore of Drogheda.¹ She married Sir Faithful Fortescue, son of John Fortescue and Susanna Chichester.¹ She died on 5 September 1634.¹
     Her married name became Fortescue.¹

     John Fortescue is the son of William Fortescue and Anne Giffard.¹ He married, secondly, Susanna Chichester, daughter of Sir John Chichester and Gertrude Courtenay.² He married, firstly, Anne Porter, daughter of Walter Porter.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)² He lived at Buckland Filleigh, Devon, England^G.¹

     Anne Porter is the daughter of Walter Porter.¹ She married, secondly, John Fortescue, son of William Fortescue and Anne Giffard.¹ She married, firstly, D. Thorne.¹
     Her married name became Thorne.¹ Her married name became Fortescue.¹

     D. Thorne married Anne Porter, daughter of Walter Porter.¹
