John Carew was born in 1466.1 He was the son of Sir Nicholas Carew and Elizabeth Croker.2 He married, firstly, Agnes Croker, daughter of Sir John Croker the younger.1 He married, secondly, Katharine la Zouche, daughter of John la Zouche, 7th Baron Zouche (of Haryngworth) and Joan Dinham, in 1498.1 He died on 18 July 1503.1

John la Zouche, 7th Baron Zouche (of Haryngworth) was born in 1459.2 He was the son of William la Zouche, 6th Baron Zouche (of Haryngworth) and Katherine Lenthall.3 He married Joan Dinham, daughter of Sir John Dinham, 6th Lord Dinham, before 26 February 1486/87.2 He died circa March 1525/26.2
He succeeded as the 7th Baron Zouche, of Haryngworth [E., 1308] on 15 January 1467/68.1 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Saint Maur [E., 1314] on 15 January 1467/68, de jure.2 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Lovel, of Castle Cary on 15 January 1467/68, de jure.2 He fought in the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, captured by King Henry VII.2 On 7 November 1485 he was attainted by Parliament.2 In 1489 his attainder was reveresed.2 Between October 1495 and December 1495 his previous dignities were restored.2

Katharine la Zouche is the daughter of John la Zouche, 7th Baron Zouche (of Haryngworth) and Joan Dinham.2 She married, secondly, Sir Robert Brandon, son of Sir William Brandon and Elizabeth Wingfield.1 She married, firstly, John Carew, son of Sir Nicholas Carew and Elizabeth Croker, in 1498.1
